What is a box break and how does it work?

A box break is a way to split up the contents of a booster box into slots prior to opening the box. We will be recording the opening of the box and distribute the cards based on the slot it is in.

Due to the heavy multi-color presence in Double Masters 2022, we have decided to make some adjustments to our normal slots.  Our main intention is to even out the odds for each slot and not make the multi-color slot the only enticing option.  Please read to understand the changes.  

There will be 7 slots in this box break: White, Blue, Black, Red, Green, Multi-Color, and Colorless. 

Land will be assigned to the slot with the lowest number of Rares and/or Mythics.  In the case of a tie, we will randomly assign the Land to the slots that are tied.

Hybrid mana cost cards will be taken out of the Multi-Color slot and will be randomly assigned to one of the colors of their Hybrid mana.  For example, if we pull Ashenmoor Liege {1}{B/R}{B/R}{B/R} it will be randomly assigned to either the Black slot or the Red slot.  

What am I buying?

You are buying one slot in this box break. Both the names of the winners and the names of the slots will be entered into the list randomizer at random.org. Buying multiple slots will increase your chances of getting the colors you want, and buying all slots will get you ALL the cards from the booster box.

What happens next?

Once we have assigned the slots to specific winners, we will break open the box and sort all the cards into the 7 different slots. You will receive ALL the cards in your assigned slot. For example, if you are assigned the White slot and we open up a Doomed Traveler from a pack, that will be yours. If you are assigned to the Blue slot and we pull a Ingenious Skaab? That’s yours to keep!

Are Commons and Uncommons included?

We will send out ALL the cards in your assigned slot including commons and uncommons. For example, if we pull an Inquisition of Kozilek, it will go to the Black slot.

What about the box topper, art cards, and tokens?

If a box topper is included in the box, it will be randomly assigned.  Art cards & tokens will be randomly distributed across the slots.
